23rd of February 2009

It’s my party and I cry if I want, cry if I want to. LOL. That really bugged Kat. So yes, I turned the big 21 this past Sunday. It was also Tim's big 18. I’m so glad to have a shared birthday with someone. All that attention and constant piercing stares from a couple dozen of people can really be nerve wrecking. Birthdays are never one that I look forward so it makes sense to cower in the corner for a day in a year. I just that strange to not like growing up. But it was THE best one I've ever had. I never had such an extravagant party thrown for me. I great appreciate the effort and love everyone exhumes. Lets start at the beginning though. How everything really started – so sit back, grab some of that delicious burnt popcorn I made in the microwave and read this extremely long blog (Unless I get lazy and cut it off halfway)…

It’s incredibly funny how I somehow always ruin a good surprise. Every Christmas or birthday, I find out what gift I’m getting or what not. I’m just suspicious that way. So it’s not unexpected that I knew what was going on. Plus Kathleen is a bad liar. Really bad. She calls me up at night and asks me what my favorite restaurant is and if I’m free on a certain weekend. So every since, I’ve been nagging her about that. But I must give some credit for performance. I was indeed a bit surprised. I was all dressed up for church (And was very uncomfortable) and quietly wait for my surprise party. I’d expect just a fair size group of people to accompany me on a small dinner. But I ended up with 28 size people at Olive Garden. They had planned for Tim and I to cross paths and end up at the restaurant, but epic failure happened. And I had to face the flashes of novice paparazzi by myself. I had a nice lunch though. Ate my favorite calamari and talked to many people. In the end, we racked up a bill of 500+ dollars. Which made me feel a bit bad. Which adds another reason to my distastefulness to birthday celebrations. Eats up your poor wallet.

We took a nice drive over to Kathleen’s house later on and got a sneak peek at my very first strip tease. Gag was working its way up but it was quite the experience. Watching Steph and Alberto do their awkward dancing made me love the fact that I have the coolest friends in the whole wide world – people who would suffer from embarrassment just to entertain me. How nice. >XD Our night was then filled with music, dancing, laughter and CAKE! OMG… I can’t believe I got caked for the first time. I’ve performed them numerous times but always have avoided the crossfire. But man, it all started with Tiff. She sat across from me and I eyed her down. Asking for some sign of approval of my initial thoughts and she did approve. So I went in. Got Tim good. But bad karma had rebound back to me and Steph face planted my from behind seconds later. And world war three began. It wasn’t as bad as I thought though. I always figured it was devastating but no the worst.

Oh man… here where I’m getting lazy … There are all these other funny events that happened but my tolerance is low. Stuff like Judy’s crazy dancing are for another time.

But on Monday, we went to Naan and Curry and enjoyed a pleasant dinner together. We messed around with Neilson for a while.

And then on Wednesday night, when I got home, I was bombarded with a wall of balloons. And some creepers lurking at my window. They spooked my twice that night. I think we’ve accustomed a new tradition… Man, I wish I could write more…
