Frozen Water!?

This is an And-this-is-what-I-did.. post! Us older yet still immature group of people when on a little trip up north to Tahoe. And for some odd reason, I could tell that the trip wasn't going to go as planned. I think it started on the Friday morning when I was literally rushing around like a mad woman. First I had to pick up and drop off Alberto in the morning so he could get some last minute food. Second, I had to pick up Steph so we could remodel Mandy's room for her birthday - we covered the room with countless balloons as well as a creeper Edward at the window and a hubby Edward waiting in bed. It was funny because my mother dearest ruined the surprise a bit. She waited for her to get home and followed her to her room with the biggest grin across her face. That tipped it off a bit. But it's all good - it worked out just as well in the end. Back to Friday - So we got to church around 3 o'clock and started prepping and lugging and packing and a whole lot of manual labor. We left at 4 and was stuck in traffic for a while but it was good fun. We arrived at the cabin in the wee late hours of the night only to find that we have no running water. First major catastrophe - I never understood how precious water was until now. A good experience of what most third world countries go through. So yea, we couldn’t flush the toilets or take a shower. We resorted to melting the snow outside for toilet water. Hardcore. On Saturday the half went snowboarding while the others played in the snow. By nightfall all of us packed up and headed down to Sacramento. Spent another night there and went home. It was overall a good trip. I thought it was funny how God seems to have ruined all our plans in order for us to really wake up and know that he controls everything. Maybe nothing worked out because everything we did was all based on our motives - we didn't incorporate him into this retreat or even let him take the reins. Lesson learned I guess.

I guess another negative part of the trip were my accident prone incidents. I seriously got hurt the most on the trip. First Aid Kit was my new best friend during the weekend.... Two cuts on the fingers from the snow - Skidding on gravel on my jog to the car - Slipping and falling out of bed - Bruise on my foot from Steph - Hitting my head on the ceiling - Falling out of the slid - Cuts on the legs - And a whole lot. I'm gonna bring my doctor up next time. A bunch of other stuff happened but it seems too long to write them out. I'll put up some videos and photos later.
